Susan McGarry, RA, LEED AP, NCARB
Principal Architect
Established in 2010, ArchCentral is the realization of the goal of its principal architect, Susan McGarry. Born and raised in Bloomsburg, PA, having graduated from Bloomsburg High School, McGarry received her Bachelor’s of Architecture degree from Philadelphia University and then returned to the area to work for an architecture firm in Lewisburg, PA, while completing the required hours and testing to be a registered architect. Despite working in Lewisburg, McGarry maintained her connection to her hometown by volunteering her time to various community organizations, including planning commission and Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc. Upon the completion of her testing and receiving her license, McGarry made the decision to strike out on her own and to establish her firm in Bloomsburg.
McGarry has experience in the design and project-managing of a wide variety of projects, including churches, office buildings, student housing and higher-education facilities, restaurants, industrial buildings, recreational facilities, residential, mixed-use and many conversions of existing buildings to new uses.
McGarry is very knowledgable with current code regulations and ADA regulations which are a major component of the design process. McGarry is also trained in the design of sustainable buildings and is currently the only LEED AP architect in Columbia County.
